If so, shouldn't it show as either a + or a - in the menu on that channel? I plan a road trip in a week or so and would like to have this working. I can manually enter the repeater info in MR mode, but that kinda defeats the purpose of the computer upload method which is much faster!
The only guide I have besides the coffee-coaster instruction guide that came with the radio (what the heck, it was a $35 radio so who's complaining!) is one I found online by Jim Unroe - KC9HI (God bless'em!). Baofeng compatibility includes the various UV-5R models, as well as the BF-F8HP (which I have). UPDATE/IMPORTANT: Don't buy this radio for use without a Technichian licens (or better). Okay, CHIRP software works on LOTS of Baofeng radio models (and many other radios). The channel used here is the local Police dispatch.
Because the last station is an example of how to block yourself from accidentally transmitting on a "listen only" channel. Because researching this information took a lot of time and now you don't need to waste yours.
